Default WHV - Finding a job

    Hi all

I'm thinking of applying for a whv and noticed it said you must not take up permanent employment . Does this mean the only work you can do is specific contract work? It sounds like companies wouldn't go near anyone who's on a whv.

Or are you allowed to take up a normal job but be upfront with the employer that you are on a whv?

My profession is web development if that helps

    Cheers!

It just means you can be taken on on a casual basis. Hundreds of WHV holders are taken on all the time. And if an employer is impressed with you, you can start working on the WHV, he can offer you permanent skilled employment, and you can then show the offer to INZ and apply for a work visa to stay longer term.
