Hi

I'm writing on behalf of a friend who's English is poor. His situation is -he's a New Zealander (Cambodian born) who wishes his Cambodian partner to join him with their small child, and to go through the partnership to residency to citizenship thing eventually. She had made an attempt to come to nz on a student visa prior to the birth of their child, citing a wish to study English. It was turned down as they felt as she had already done some English courses the reason was invalid.

They are a genuine couple but have not lived together enough. So the question is-she is going to apply for a nine month visitors visa and get the living together bit done, but would it be wise or unwise to say that she has a partner (the father of her child) out here already? Or would it not matter to make this known?

I would appreciate any feedback on this , thanks.
