My SMC JSV expirs next week but resident application still PENDING ;-(

I've got a job and started working on 8th May.
I alreay submitted relavant documents last month and the verification officer contacted my boss and me last month.
But the status of my resident is still PENDING.
My SMC JSV expired next week.
My advisor said there was no response for email and phone call from CO for last 2weeks and so I have to apply for work visa.
Do I need to apply another visa to keep working?
I am not sure whether I have enough time to prepar for work visa.
I thought CO would make a decision for my resdient application before the expiry date.
Is this the only way to keep my application for resident going on process?

I suggest you call the INZ Auckland hotline now and find out what is the best thing you can do 099144100.

I call them for follow up and they are helpful. I hope it all turns out well for you.

I entirely agree - this needs to be put DIRECTLY to INZ, not use a go-between. Good luck for some peace of mind VERY soon.
