    Default Working in a sawmill

    Hello all

    I am currently looking at jobs in a sawmill as a machine operator and labourer can anyone tell me what sort of pay these jobs have

    I have worked in an industry that works closely with forestry so I can offer a bit of insight.

    Entry level labourer in a mill will likely be minimum wage for a trial period but will likely go up after that. You would probably be making in the $42-$49k per annum range after a while. The mills I was around did not really pay well until after you proved you would make a good employee. For some people that could be pretty quick, for others it could take a while.

    What area of NZ you moving to? The major mills are not in every town so your ability to find work will be very dependent on location.
