Arrival Card

My partner has been granted a work visa which expires on 31 July 2014. We arrive in NZ in 2 weeks. Once in NZ we will apply for permanent residency under partnership.

When filling out the arrival card and they ask " do you intend to stay in NZ permanently" should we tick this or should we say 10 months?

I would normally put expiry date of my visa because that is the date by which you can stay in NZ legally before being granted residency or extension of visa.
