Angry Resident visa granted under partnership and things changed

    Hello everyone,

I was granted a resident visa under partnership last year.
She told me last week that she's sort of seeing someone else and that she wants to end this relationship with me.
After I went through all the emotions, anger, disappointment, sadness.
I came to terms with it, if she's already lost her feelings for me there's not much I could do about it.
But it occurred to me, "What happens when I apply for permanent resident visa later?"
If she wants to move on so much, I would have to let her go, but if it could affect my visa application, should I beg her to stay with me?
    What should I do?

    Don't worry.

Your Residence was granted on the basis of the relationship that had to be proved for the time BEFORE and UP TO the application. Once you were awarded Residence, it's just Residence, the same as if you'd applied because of your work, and there are no special conditions on you any more. You will be able to apply for your PR under the ordinary requirements. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...quirements.htm

Thank you very much for your advice JandM
I feel a little better now, thanks to you at least I know visa wise I won't have to worry.
It would be quite a pain for both of us to if I had to ask her to be with me when she's no longer into me.
