    Default Everything boxed in container?

Last year when I returned to New Zealand, Rainier either boxed every item or wrapped it in brown paper. Son and his family are now making the move to NZ. As they're using Upakweship, they're doing their own packing. They're packing some things in heavy duty plastic bins, w/lids. Rainier wrapped my plastic bins in brown paper. Does anyone know if this is required by MAF/customs?
Seems like it is overkill. Thanks.

Don't think the brown paper is a customs issue - just for insurance purposes - maybe that's worth a check (we helped with the clear up of the Rena and know people who lost everything because they weren't insured). Just make certain that anything that has contained food, garden produce or been outside is very, very thoroughly cleaned - professionally if necessary.

I had some of my bike parts in large plastic bins and Ranier just taped the tops on, no brown paper or other wrapping.
