    Default welders needs

Any welders out here heading for Christchurch?
My hubby works for a large co in Christchurch and they are crying out for skilled welders. Its a good company to work for according to my OH. His starting pay was 21/hour ( he has had 2 increases since then) they also pay 25/week tool allowance, 10/day meal allowance when on overtime and the usual overtime rates. They paid our MAF fees for us when the container arrived too. My OH says its a relaxed working environment (radio and a beer fridge!) they have a social club too. The company has a full order book but has lost a few men recently (one went back to Blenheim for family reasons and one when overseas) The specialise in stainless steel.
If anyone out there is interested PM us for more details.

    Hi Joanne,

If they can wait a year, I can bring them One Sheetmetal worker/Welder (working on an expansion/shutdown for the next few months - hes welding 12hrs a day 6/7 days a week Money not seeing much of hubby (but at least all that moneys being saved up for a good cause!)

"Plasterboard manufacturer Knauf Drywall is investing £24 million to increase capacity at its Immingham factory. " (German Engineers - sticklers at class welds, each one is tested and if there not good enough they make em start again - Robs havent failed so far )

The project, now under way, includes a major extension of the plasterboard production line plus a new dryer, stacker and packaging equipment. Other improvements to the manufacturing processes, and additional warehousing will double the potential output of the factory. The new equipment is scheduled for commissioning in January 2006."

And do they take on apprentices? My son has Mec Eng Level 2 and has just started an apprenticeship as a plater, (learning to weld in all forms) safety pasport, Abrasive wheel cert??? (ask ur hubby) (plus others and will have his certificates by next Sept?

PS do they sell kromers in NZ or should they bring a stack with them?
