    Default A Resident Visa

    Hi friends,

It may be funny to ask those questions now after spending a long time working on getting the residence visa to NZ. However, I am trying now to know many things about NZ to prepare myself to settle there easily if I get the PR soon.

    I have two questions:
    1. Is there any support for resident kids?? As an example, in Canada they support the resident visa's kids with a 200 dollars a month. Is it the same in NZ???

    2. Could I support a refugee application for my parents or brothers if I get a resident visa??

    3. In general, what are the benefits of the resident visa??

    Thank you

    Louay

    1. The third hit here https://www.google.co.uk/?gws_rd=cr&...+child+benefit goes to some old threads on the forum.

    2. In time, once you have held Residence for the qualifying amount of time, you could sponsor your parents for Residence if they are eligible. Details here. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...categories.htm You can't directly sponsor your brothers for a visa, but if they qualify for some kind of visa themselves, you can offer sponsorship for their maintenance. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...ponsorship.htm
