emirates via oz - which airport?

Looking at booking our flights in the next week, we're going emirates Glasgow - auckland but can't decide on which oz route to take. the choice is Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. I flew Newcastle to Auckland a few years back now and can't for the life of me remember which route we took then just that it was fine! I seem to have it in my head people say avoid transitting via Sydney, not sure if this is still the case. Any preferences guys?

Brisbane airport seemed nice enough when we went through there back in July. Quite modern, open and airy. Not been to the other two so can't help on that.
