Question How many times am i allowed to sponsor partner?

    Hello Everyone

I am new to this forum so please bear with me if i ask something silly as i tried to find answer for my situation but could not find something exactly related. I have been in a relationship with a girl from china from last 6 months and we have been living together. she came here on a working holiday visa and i would like to help her - genuinely help her to sort out her visa. she never asked me, she never even mentioned this thing to me, she don't even know about this fact that i want to help her. we both want to give a try for long term relation but i would like know if things did not turn out as it suppose to be then will it create problem for future partner sponsorship? how many times a person is allowed to sponsor someone for partner visa? because if things did not work then ill be forced for arrange mariage because of my culture and all the parent thing

Here http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...14592133994513 are the basic limitations on sponsoring partner(s). (That's not a silly question at all - you're being realistic.)

Are you a NZ citizen, or what visa do you have yourself?

Have you seen, as you don't yet have proof of living with your partner for 12 months, you will first have to sponsor her for a partner-sponsored temporary work visa. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...14592133994513 Once that is granted, keep collecting the evidence, as when you have 12 months' proof, she can then apply for partner-sponsored Residence. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...14592133994513

    Hi,

this is a topic i was looking for actually, NZ has granted my residency visa this year along with my spouse that has been with me for the last 5 years but it turns out our marriage is not running smooth and we are in the middle of a divorce.
So, according to the link that JandM given : http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...14592133994513

has not previously supported or sponsored more than one other successful principal applicant on the basis of partnership
    and
has not supported or sponsored any other successful principal applicant on the basis of partnership in the five years immediately preceding the date the current application is made

does it means even though i was divorced with my spouse i won't able to support anybody in the next 5 years?

Thanks a bunch for all the answers.

    Cheers.

    Yes.

See F2.10.10 here for the full regulation, in the INZ operational manual. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/46176.htm
