    Default Holiday ideas Gisborne area

    Live in Cambridge, went on an awesome trip (4 days) with family last Jan to Coromandel. We are looking for any suggestions on holiday destinations in the Gisborne region or alternative destinations within a few hrs drove of Central Waikato.

    It you enjoy beaches then staying in the motor camp at Waikanae Beach is a must. Waikanae has to be one of the safest beaches in the country and just minutes from the city, not the least to say a warm climate.(most times). If you want to surf, then Roberts Road as it is known, go down Awapuni Road, one road down from the beach kiosk, opposite the camping ground does have some good surf along with the the Coast beaches.
    For scenic driving the Coast road is beautiful. . It was my hometown for 40 years.
