No Live Trace
I am a little worried as my Husband has a no live trace on his uk police report. He was cautioned around ten years ago for assult. Basically he had an argument that got out of hand with his house mate, they resolved the issue and are still in contact now... his friend reccommended our honeymoon villa. But worried as it is to do with violence it will effect our chances. It was a silly mistake years ago when he was young does anyone know if it will effect our chances?
Thanks in advance... a worried applicant

A5.15, A5.20 and A5.25 here http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/35052.htm are the regulations covering this. Problems usually arise from actual convictions. As you'll see, it's a situation that it should be perfectly possible to get through, though he may possibly be asked to account for himself and explain in more detail what happened.

Thank you for your help, Do you know if there is a particular format they require you to use, we have just written a statement explaining what happened and he has signed it

that should suffice, there's no particular format to use to be honest. As long as you disclose everything it should be fine, and the worse that could happen is that they ask for a character waiver, which would only require a few letters from friends etc...
try not to worry too much

Just a quick question we have submitted our application for residency (ITA) who do we know where we are in the process? We've had our original documents returned to us. Claire

An exciting but frustrating time lies ahead! I'm afraid you CAN'T know exactly. COs have to check everything, but there's no definite order for it to be done in.
You should have details of how to log onto your records on the INZ website, but be warned, the updating there can be pretty hit and miss. And there's a glitch in the system that means that every time anybody from INZ accesses your case, for any reason, even by mistake, it shows the date of the medical as being changed to THAT date.
Here are some old threads on aspects of the processing. http://www.enz.org/forum/showthread....979#post455979

Just to be clear - you're still in the UK, and applying for what visa?
