what's the procedure for getting my PR?

Hey guys,

I got my residency on the 19th of Jan 2011 - now my question is, when should I go to get my PR stamped (should I go on the 19th itself or just before/after? I've stayed over 184 days in both the years

Well you are not allowed to apply before your 2 year anniversary, so just before isn't an option.

You can go on or after 19th Jan to Immigration office with passport and filled up forms. They would take the fee via Efptos / Credit card and stickers for PR would be applied to your passport immediately and returned.
If you are going to city office in Auckland then try going at 2 pm..to avoid queues.
