Default The Climate in Auckland...and the rest of the country..

We've been told that the climate in Auckland makes it the best place to live in New Zealand, but is this true?

Also is it the best place to find work as a computer programmer?

Hello Steve, Nice to hear from another Wales located family

As we are currently still in Cardiff, I can't speak with certainty about the Auckland climate, but that's where we are headed too. When/where in Aucland are you thinking of? And where in Wales are you?
I'm sure someone from the Auckland area will post some good info on this. Have you already looked in Where Should I Live section? There may be something in there, or do a search on Aucklnad/climate?
    best of luck,
    Gil

Hi Steve. Wales seems to be the in place to leave at the moment.
Have you checked out this feature yet?

    Hello Gil,

We are in Pontypridd. Not a million miles away from you.

    Thanks for the advice.

    Hi Timbo

You are right about Wales being the place to leave...there's nothing here!

Thanks for the link. Checked it out - over 2000 hrs of sunshine seems ok to me.

Great link Timbo, thanks. I see that London has about 1500 hours of sun a year. Wales must get about a quarter of that!!

All of the info is available right here Gil. Scroll to bottom of the main page and click on New Zealand Immigration. This will put you onto the ENZ home page, which has a wealth of stuff on it.

At the moment its 16c at 8.30 am, and the sun is shining, sky is blue, trees are just all coming into leaf for spring, but it has poured down for the last couple of days, apparently it can rain a bit here, but in the 4 months or so we have been here, there have been maybe 4-5 weekends that have been spoilt by bad weather? You do get extremes here as well, it can be torrential for five mins, then the sun comes out and ten mins later its all dried up again...., oh and it gets pretty windy some days, due to be practically surrounded by sea water I suppose.

We have spent a few days even at the end of winter sunbathing on our deck...

Hello Steve Jones, welcome to the forum.

Auckland is pretty wet and sunny, here is the comparison of Auckland's average temperature and rainfall with major UK cities (London, Edinburgh, Birmingham) : http://www.enz.org/NewZealandClimate.html#auckland
