NZ visiting AUS

Question on visiting Australia for a NZ resident (non-citizen yet) - Has anyone experienced this? The passport holder is from Vietnam but a NZ resident. Can she visit Australia? If so, what's the process? Cannot seem to find information whether she needs a visa or not to visit AUS since she's an NZ resident. Have searched on AUS visa site but it's confusing.

I don't think NZ residence gets you anything (except cheaper airfare).

It appears your friend must fill out the very user friendly form 1419: http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/1419.pdf

(It cannot be done online for citizens of Vietnam.)

You need to apply visitors visa for Australia .
Look at department of Immigration Australia website. www.immi.gov.au

As above, she will need Australian Tourist visa. If you are applying in Auckland then the visa application is accepted by TTS Services at Quay Street office.

Unlike most of the countries, Australian visas in general have lot of sub classes, so make sure its the right one. However, TTS staff is very much helpful to address your questions. Sometimes the queues are really long so best option would be to take the token and grab a snack on Queenstreet
