    Default Philippines Working Holiday

Not sure how many people have noticed the news on the INZ website about the introduction of a new Philippines Working Holiday scheme. To qualify, you have to be at least 18 and under 31, have a tertiary qualification gained from 3 years university study, have at least English 4.5 or equivalent, have the usual funds ($4200), enough money for a return ticket and meet the character and health requirements. There are only 100 available and they become available at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday 5 February 2014 NZ time. I imagine they will be gone within a few minutes. This could be a golden opportunity for someone who needs a job to get residence or a work visa. Those who get these visas will be able to stay or up to a year and work for up to 3 months for an employer before getting a different visa or moving on. Being onshore makes such a difference. Good luck to those who apply! Please note: check out the requirements yourself as I cannot guarantee that I have covered everything. My intention was to raise awareness. See - http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...idayscheme.htm. Tip: Make sure you are registered, know your login and have everything ready to go!

Hi Karen, do you think it will open for the same date and time this year?

Here's the INZ official information about this. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...idayscheme.htm It's going to happen again in February 2015. I can't see any mention of the exact date, though.

    Hi Admin,

I was just thinking, WHS (Work Holiday Scheme) being under the Work Visa Class - Will that be applicable for INZ 1025 form?

You have to apply online, following the link in the bottom paragraph of that page I linked to (not a paper form).

    Let me rephrase that...

We have already made an application but yet to submit it.
As the eligibility to submit an WHS application mentioned about "*You are required to hold sufficient funds for the duration of your visit and for the purchase of an outward ticket from New Zealand. Such evidence may be requested on arrival at the border."
My question now will be, can I be an evidence to my sister who is applying for the WHS as an sponsor for her funding needs during her temporary stay in NZ?
