What 's the next hurdle?

We've been applying to sponsor my Dad to immigrate.

After 2 more medical tests, we've heard today that the MA is happy.

What other checks etc are now done before a decision is made? Trying hard not to get my hopes up too much, but this is good news isn't it?

The evidence to be checked is about your/his family connections, the finances, and your own immigration status. There's nothing to say what order that is done in - some of it may already have been done, or not. Apart from that, it's just a matter of his file waiting in line till it comes to the top on the CO's work rotation with all the information verified.

Thanks ... according to the website, his application has changed to "APPROVED" ... not yet had any paperwork through, but I think that's it .. is the wait over?

If the INZ website says 'approved', congratulations are in order. That's normally the first indication, before any paperwork, which will be along in due course.
