My wife looks forward to the Academy Awards all year, and the thought of missing them is unconscionable. How can we watch them from this far-flung island? We don't have Sky. Are there live feeds anywhere?

To each his (or her) own. I don't have Sky either, but I'm guessing by your post that Sky is running them. How about Chicago? If there is no rugby or cricket on, they will probably play them.

The Grammys were shown life on one of the free channels (One, TV2 or TV three, can't remember...), so the Oscars might as well?

I'm pretty sure there's delayed coverage on TvOne. Looking forward to 12 Years A Slave cleaning up the awards. I predict 7 Oscars

Visiting MIL after 3 days of sitting on the couch watching Freeview: "Why do people pay for this?"
Me: "No, this is the free broadcast. Why do people watch it is the question to ask."

Darned if I could find it. I couldn't find it last year or the year before. It's live streaming in the USA, so if you had one of those programs that makes it look like your computer is in the USA, you could watch it.

I do have that, but I didn't think a stream was available (at least a legal one). I hadn't considered that ABC would actually be streaming it. That's good news!
