Question Migrant job search support service!

    Guys,

Even thought this is my first post, i have been a keen follower of this forum since I started my NZ SMC immigration process. I have learned sooo much, so thank you all!

I wish to briefly share with you my current situation, state of mind, and ask for your opinions and experiences regarding the strategy of seeking NZ employment with the help of a professional paid service may i have guidance as usual from ENZ ...

INZ recently granted me a JSV. I am landing in Auckland in 2 weeks time (alone without my wife and daughter until/if i find a proper job)!

I have been doing my homework preparing my CV Kiwi style, researching NZ work culture, researching potential employers in my core field (Technical side of content creation and finishing for film, TV and web) and even researching job opportunities in the broader ICT field which have experiences in as well. I started recently testing the waters: applying for jobs and cold contacting potential employers...

Did i do enough so far? The more i read and learn about the challenge of penetrating the NZ job market for the first time, the more i realize how tough it is going to be and that the unknowns are much more than what i have already learned!

(Question) Do you guys think a professional job seeking service (obviously in addition to hard work and persistence from my side) would increase my chances of landing a proper job? Any one got positive experience with paid services?
There is a company that quoted me a JOB SEARCH SUPPORT SERVICE package for NZ$ 599. They claim their approach have an 89% success rate! A grand claim that needs a grand proof! Any thoughts?

I normally would not get sold on this, but what grasped my attention is that they are basing their claims on a fact i have learned about from different NZ resources. Their promise is to provide me with info, tools, and strategies to help me explore the 70-80% of job opportunities not advertised and can only be accessed through contacts and networks! I am sold on the fact that only 20-30% of jobs in NZ gets advertised, but whether they can deliver or not is something else...

    Any thoughts? Insights? Previous experiences?

I would be wary without asking or references or testimonials. When you have made 5 posts, send me a Private message and I will see which Recruitment Agents might be able to help you - they charge the company not the prospective employee. Are you committed to Auckland or would you consider other cities? (I am not intending to charge for this - but I will just be giving you some contacts.)

Thanks Karen for your supportive reply...Will be more active on the forum and will definitely need your precious feedback. I am not committed to Auckland. Where ever the opportunity takes me!

Hi hatem, did you book the job search support services? We got the offer, too, and are curious if it worked for others.
