That is certainly (more than) the basis of an application under the Investor category. The full requirements are here. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...quirements.htm http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...quirements.htm And here is the definition of what counts as an acceptable investment. http://glossary.immigration.govt.nz/...investment.htm

You would have to apply for Residence in the first instance. PR is a separate visa which you can apply for after holding Residence for a minimum of two years. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...quirements.htm

Yes a minimum of NZ$10 mil. It's a category to bring in high net worth people to NZ. Even so, there are quotas set for this.
You can consider a business visa if you like - the requirements are less monetary but not less stringent. And there may be repercussions for those who fail.

The full requirements for the new business category haven't yet been made public - any moment now.

I also heard somethings about investment of 100,000NZD to get the Entrepreneur Work Visas, then get permanent visa (http://www.enz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=43525).

I don't know about it but hope someone here can help you.

    Hi there
Thank you for your advice. If we 5 friends buy a business farm by investing 500000 NZD (each person 100000 NZD) can all of us 5 friends apply for resident visa?

The EWV will only be announced to the public on 24 March 2014. It is a lot more stringent than LTBV. It will be points based system with minimum of 120 points to qualify. NZ$100,000 gives you zero point.
