Hi,
Just having read a post by Desmondo, it prompted me to ask this:
We should, in theory, be in Auckland by the summer. Initially we'll be renting but soon after want to move into our own home.
Last year, it looked as though we were going to move to WAustralia but goalposts changed etc. Anyway, in WA, there were government incentives to new migrants buying newly-built properties. There were certain discounts available and also a government grant.
Does anyone know if there is something similar in NZ?
Of course, I appreciate that the government is spending NZ$50B, over the next 15-20 years for the regeneration after the earthquake but in the same token, because of the history of earthquakes, it can put people off going over there, so they may dangle financial carrots, to encourage them to take that leap of faith in such a beautiful country.
