Hello,
Our family did the happy dance as we all got our visas in the mail this week - phew!! I'm curious what paperwork we need to bring with us. We have a Work Visa for my husband and partner-visitor visa for myself and student and visitor visas for our children. Will they ask for any of our supportive documents at customs or any time while we are in NZ (like copies of visa paperwork, medical forms, proof of relationship, etc.)? Or will they look at our visa/passport and not need to see anything more? We've never done this before so I'm unsure how much information to pack in carry-ons and don't want to fill up with unnecessary stuff!
As far as filing taxes, what information is handy to have while in NZ? We plan to be there for up to 5 years based on our visa. Will NZ need my American tax return information?
And one last one... With being overseas, how will that work with Obamacare? My understanding is that with longer visas our family will be covered by NZ Healthcare. Is that correct and will that cover the American end of needing to be under an insurance plan?
Thanks so much - I've enjoyed browsing around this site and gleaned much!
