Processing time after CO assigned

Hi can anyone please tell me how long CO takes for taking a decision
I applied for residency under SMC with 135 points on 10 Oct 2013
case Officer assigned on 31 march 2014............... Its already more than six months now.....

Hi. As per my knowledge , there is no fixed rule about how long it will take. But as you said you got CO assigned on 31 March 2014, i will say its too early yo expect any decision right now. can you please also tell me what is difference between Central Verification Unit and Case officer...

Hi.
Case officer is the person who will look after your case and process it. Usually he/she have many other cases they are processing at that time.
Not Sure about verification unit, but i think its a third party who does the verifications on behalf of CO. I might be wrong on this one.

Hi There i follow the Monthly News letter from INZ..Its called Paramount Matters if you read the SMC section carefully, it states that most verifications are done by CO themselves, i thought CVU is not being used any more for SMC..http://www.immigration.govt.nz/branc...mapril2014.htm
