Default Offered job, but company hasn't advertised

    Hi

I am on a WHV, and my 12 months ends in early July, I could probably extend but only work another 2 months, as I've already worked nearly all of the year..

My current employer has offered me a job. The current job i'm in is generic sales and retail, within a certain field. The job they are offering, that i'd move into is more specialist. The retailer will be offering services, that I would be advising on, and we are quite sure that they can't find a kiwi to fill the role.
However I have made it clear to them they'd need to advertise for the specific role, and not just provide proof of advertising the current role i'm in that is fairly generic.

They had a mechanic come to work for them, and the employer argued with NZ immigration that the sector we work in is so small and specialist that there is no need to advertise as they know who is and is not available in the field. However, this employer's job was on the essential skills shortage at the time. This I think was the key difference.

Does anyone think my application will be hindered by the fact the role has not been advertised?

Do I apply then the company has to provide proof or does all the info have to go with my application?

    Thank you

    PF

We supplied all the information at point of application for Essential Skills work visa.

OH's job was not on any skills shortages list nor and accredited employer. We supplied, copy of the advert they had placed, confirmation that they had paid for said advert, letter from the employer saying why they were offering the job to OH - detailing why they couldnt find a local to fulfill the role etc.

thanks for that, I'll try and convince them to advertise..

Does the advert have to be in a national paper, or can it just be on their website?
