    Default Residence visa approved

Woohoo.. Status changed to 'Approved' today. I never expected we'd be able to get it this fast.

EOI submitted: 31.03.2014 (165 points + job offer)
    EOI selected: 02.04.2014
    ITA received: 14.04.2014
    ITA submitted: 17.04.2014
ITA received/accepted by INZ London branch: 22.04.2014 (a few days delay because of Easter)
    Visa approved: 06.05.2014

So that's 5 weeks in total.
Thanks to everyone on this forum. All the info and help on this forum made it possible for us to be prepared to the max.

    Congrats!

Can I ask you what was the job you applied with? I have 240 points with JO in LTSSL + partner with skilled job and still waiting for a CO. I logged all docs in 17th of April and I am anxious as, as our work visas will expire in June and most probably need to apply for another while the residency application is evaluated.

I know that the no of points and JO can make your application jump de queue, but at this stage I am unsure...

Thanks for any insights provided and congrats once again!

I believe that JO can make your process faster, but more point doesnt mean faster process, since CO will need more time to confirm the points (like contacting partner's employee, etc etc)

It's a specialist job in a very small field of work. It's so small it isn't listed on the ANZSCO or LTSSL, but I did provide a letter from my new employer in which he stated that it's hard for them to find qualified personnel in New Zealand. I think I could've claimed points for my job being in a creative industry, but since I didn't need the points I chose not to. Same with my work experience.

I guess the work load in the specific branch matters a lot, and I was lucky the CO could start working on my case right after I submitted it.

I am pretty much same as you. Waiting sucks.
