Question Am I eligible for bonus points for USA work experience ?

I have an USA work experience in a future growth and in an area of absolute skill shortage area, but never worked in New Zealand before. Am I eligible for Bonus Points ? I am planning to apply under Skilled Migrant category.

See SM13.10 here http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/30576.htm, showing that you can only claim for work experience in an identified future growth area if you are already claiming for a skilled NZ job offer (as well as it meeting the other requirements). SM13.20 tells you the regulations about an area of absolute skill shortage.

Isn't the USA considered as compatible labour market ?

Yes, the US is considered a comparable labour market. But NO work experience gets you points in an identified future growth area, UNLESS you have a NZ job or job offer. You may be able to claim for the area of absolute skills shortage instead.
