Question Bonus points for a qualifications and LTSSL

    Hello everyone!

I want to submit EOI and I am confused a bit about points which I can claim.

I already get my full assessment results from NZQA as follows

    Qualification 1: Bachelor degree
Comperative assessment outcome: A Bachelor of Information Technology degree at Level 7 (360 credits)

    Qualification 2: Specialist diploma
Comperative assessment outcome: A postgraduate diploma at level 8 (120 credits)

    Qualification 3: Master degree
Comperative assessment outcome: A master's degree at level 9 (120 credits)

On Long-term Skill Shortage List I find following occupations

3rd column - Long Term Skill Shortage List Requirements
    - Bachelor of Information Sciences (Computer Science) or (Information Technology) or (Software Engineering)
    (NZQF Level 7)

4th column - Bonus point requirements
    - Bachelor of Information Sciences (Computer Science) or (Information Technology) or (Software Engineering)
    (NZQF Level 7)

There are additional bonus points for

Additional bonus points for work experience in an area of absolute skills shortage = 15 points
Qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage = 10 points

Can I claim these bonus points? (Considering assessment: a Bachelor degree of Information Technology degree at Level 7 (360 credits)). According to this list I presume that I have

And if I claim these points with my Bachelor degree, can I use my master degree points for qualification, there is a 10 point difference between level 7 and level 9? Should I choose Bachelor or Master degree for “Points for qualification”?

    For example,

    How I see all that...

    Relevant work experience
    Ten years = 30 points

Additional bonus points for work experience in an area of absolute skills shortage
Six years or more = 15 points

    Points for qualification
Recognised level 9 or 10 post-graduate qualification (Masters degree, Doctorate) = 60 points

    Bonus points for qualifications
Qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage = 10 points

    Partner qualifications
Recognised level 7 qualification and IELTS overall 6.5 = 20 points

    Points for age
    30 to 39 = 25 points

Total: 160 points (best case scenario)

I am not sure if I understand all this correctly.

I am planing to submit my EOI during next week and I want to avoid to be declined due to my qualification is not matching LTSSL or any other mistakes.

Any advice or suggestion will be highly appreciable.

    Thank you in advance

    Regards,
    Zoran

I think you have it spot on! You can claim the extra points for the Masters but make sure you also list your Bachelor Degree - because this is the one that gains you the extra points and also allows all your work experience to count even if it is not in a country considered to be a 2Comparable Labour Market". You should be selected next week!

Karen thank you very much on such prompt reply. I hope you are right ... I will submit my EOI next week, and I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks again
