    Default Partnership Visa Help

    Hi there,

I need some help. My partner came to NZ on a work visa last year. We met and fell in love and she has since returned home to Germany. She is on holiday from university at the moment and applied for a partnership visitor visa to come back. We sent the partnership request forms with proof of our relationship. We got a response that the visa was approved... But, nowhere at all does it say the word "partnership". Does this mean it is actually a partnership or just a general visitor visa?

    Thank you,
    Kyle

Hello. Almost certainly they will have given your lady the visa she applied for - if they were going to change it for something different, normally, they would say so, with reasons, and ask you to comment before finalizing things. It may become clearer if you wait for the paperwork. On the other hand, you could reassure yourselves by asking the CO.

NZ only has "work", "visitor" and "Study" visas and don't differentiate on the label as to what particularly instruction they were granted under. If your partner has been granted a work visa, based on your relationship, then it should say ,..." may work for OPEN, in OPEN, in OPEN", rather than for a specific employer, role and location.
