Sue For Car Accident

Hi All,

Good Morning !!!

Quick Question All , Last week one guy Banged my car from the Back and he said he will get it repaired but he has deceived me he is not picking my call nor responding for my messages .

I have got his Mobile Number , His car number photos and his name with me .

I Have already made a formal complaint in the Police Station

My entire back Bumper and senors in the back got damaged .

Can i sue this person in New Zealand if possible how can i do that ??

You can't sue for personal injury in NZ but you CAN sue for damage to property. I'm not sure of the process but the Police or the Citizens Advice Bureau would be good places to start.

A civil suit is expensive and may not be worth your time or money. I would suggest contacting your car insurance provider to see what they can do and if the accused does also have car insurance, you may be able to claim costs against him.
