Judging by the woeful standards that I've witnessed around NZ...........how hard can it be?
Is this the restricted or full test?
I'm curious about the test as well. I will be using my overseas driver's license for my first year here and then I will have to obtain a NZ license. It's been 24 years since I last took my driver's exam in the states.
You won't have to take the theory and practical tests. Having a US driver's licence, you will be able to convert it - see the procedure here. http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/fa...-licences.html
My brother did his practical here and from what he told me it was ridiculously easy.
He was asked to do a 3 point turn on a wide street and therefore a u-turn was required and that was deemed fine by the instructor. Also no parallel park etc. It's no wonder the driver's here are so bad.
I didn't know they had tests here
"Please turn the key and start the ignition"
*car starts*
"Congratulations!"
Hi All,
I passed my practical test it was pretty much easy the instructor asked me to follow his instruction that's all .
My Experience and suggestion for others
Learn how to do Parallel parking and 3 Point turn
Make sure you completely STOP at Stop Line (no slow down)
Slow down and give way only if their is a vehicle coming towards you . Don't stop if no vehicle is coming
Stay in the Lane
Don't over take
Use your indicators correctly and make sure you check your blind spots by rotating your shoulders if necessary (Especially in Round Bouts)
Make sure you see all the mirrors every 10 seconds
Make sure you Notice all the hazards you come across while driving and you will be asked by officer to explain the hazards you came across
Don't be Nervous
that's It.. All the Best
Thanks
