Default Process of principle applicant and his/her partner

Hi, I have applied work visa which is included my partner.

I am a principle applicant and submitted all documents accordingly last week.

And the status shows "pending" and immigration emailed me that your partner is oversea so the document have sent her closest branch in her country. (for assessment).

My question is, can I be approve my (principle applicant)visa first and waiting her outcome or am I suppose to wait all assessment include my partner's assessment in oversea branch?

I would appreciate if anyone know about it.

I think that will be dealt with separately, without reference to your partner's visa being processed at the offshore INZ office, so it's quite likely it will come through before hers.

I think it's when the whole family are together, either abroad or already in NZ, that applications for the various visas get worked as one case, which you may well have seen mentioned on old threads. But they can't/won't do that when you're in separate countries.
