Resident visa conditions

Hi all,

I am currently on resident visa and planning to get permanent resident visa
once I get a permanent residence visa, i may not be in the country for few years, does it have any conditions like I should not be out of the country for 6 months or more as you have for UK or US?

As far i know Permanent resident Visa is without any travelling conditions and hence you can be out of NZ for however long you wish to be without losing your resident status. However, if you are planning to apply for citizenship you will still have to meet the requisites for another 3 years after you obtain your PRV.

Every so often a rumour goes around that 'they' are thinking of putting on some restriction or other, but so far, it hasn't happened, and a PR holder retains their full rights however long they've been away.
