Need Urgent Help with ANZSCO code Please!

Hi Guys,

Does anybody know what the ANZSCO code is for a Rope Access Technican/Industrial Abseiler/Specialist Abseiler?? I cant find it on the list and not sure what the closest match would be either.

I can see your problem! While you are abseiling - what is the function that you are performing e.g. cleaning windows on high-rise buildings etc??

Thanks for your reply.

I do various jobs while on the ropes, ie window washing, banner installation, concrete repairs, painting, anchor installation, electrical and plumbing work.... list goes on...

If I look under window washer its a level 5 but I dont fit in that group as I work at heights doing the work in difficult to reach places where normal window washers or scaffolders cant reach.

Someone said I should use the general technician code 399999 which has trades and technicians that dont fit in anywhere else ie diver?

Unless you can show that there is some particularly technical aspect to the work you do while working at heights, you are most likely to be seen by INZ as a Labourer (82111X). "Performs routine tasks in erecting and repairing structures and facilities on building and construction sites a,Performs routine tasks in maintaining drainage, sewerage and stormwater systems,Performs routine tasks in fabricating, laying, installing and maintaining pipes, fixtures, water meters and regulators., etc etc . I doubt that would consider abseiling in itself a skilled occupation, and unless you have some considerable experience or trade qualification in a particular trade, they would not be likely to consider your employment skilled. If you look at cleaners it refers to "using ladders, swinging scaffolds, bosun's chairs, hydraulic bucket trucks and other equipment to reach and clean windows in multi-storey buildings .

In summary it not how you do a task, but what those tasks actually are and whether there is then a substansial match to an ANZSCO occupation.
