    Default Another question...

If my husband is granted residence, does he have a limited amount of time with which to take up residence? With the temporary partner visa there is a time limit, but I can't find on the immigration website whether one applies to a residence visa, too.

for all residence applications, if you are not in new Zealand at the time residence is approved in principle you have 6 months in which to present your passport and have your visa issued, and 12 months from the date that the visa label is issued to arrive in New Zealand.

Notice that if you take the full time before you travel, you need to allow plenty of time for the journey, in case there are travel delays. There are absolutely NO excuses accepted if you miss the date marked on the visa until which it is valid. It MUST be activated by then, or it will lapse, and the whole thing will have been for nothing and you will have to start again.
