    Default primary school admission

Are we allowed to reserve primary school ( my son need to join Year 4 when we go nz next year ) admission prior to arrival in NZ ?. Can we submit evidence documents like proof of address for school zone, Child birth certs after we arrive in NZ ?.

    Thanks.

For a state school with an enrolment zone, no. You need to be and live there.

For a private school, yes you can apply beforehand, of course.

    Thanks dharder..

Is it a must for a state school with an enrollment zone to give admission for those who reside within school zone ?. What if they don't have enough vacancies ?.

Yes, they have to take them, so no need to worry if you live within the zone.
