Other people don't know enough about you to be able to answer all your questions.

You first need to look here http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/i6954.htm for all the regulations about claiming points under the different headings. Go to SM6, where there is a chart saying all possible points, and in the last column, it tells you which other section to go to, to see the detailed requirements to claim those points.

    1) Check your details against the regulations in that link just mentioned. You can only claim for qualifications and work experience in an identified future growth area if you ALSO, already, have work or a job offer in New Zealand. You can claim for an area of absolute skills shortage without that, though.
    2) Go to this link. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/35171.htm Click on 'India' (or any other country if you studied for your bachelor's and master's there). You need to find mention of the exact qualification by name that you did, listed under the institution where you studied, with the dates given covering the time when you were awarded the qualification - all those things need to match up for the qualification NOT to need assessment. If either of your qualifications is not there, you will need to have an IQA done.
    3) The same for your wife as for you.
    4) In general, bachelor's degrees come out as Level 7 and master's as Level 8 or 9, as you will see on the link last given. But if your degrees need assessment, then the Level will depend on what NZQA find when they investigate them.
    5) To claim points for your wife's qualifications, she will have to show proof of English to the level required of a main applicant, that is, an average at IELTS of 6.5 at least. This can also be proved by other means than IELTS. (See this recent post. http://www.enz.org/forum/showthread....168#post508168)
    6) That will depend on what you find in the regulations about how your qualifications and experience match up to the requirements.
