Land Purchase
Hi All,
Sorry, I know this has been posted before, but I can't find it.
Does anyone know the limit on the amount of land/acreage that a non citizen can own/buy?
Thanks.

Found it:
The govt. hasa a restriction for overseas/non resident buyers of 5 acres, am sure of that because we had to look into it as part of a proposed business venture. nothing to do with the mortgage companies

This one is of interest to me, too, as hubbie and I have just put in an offer on a block bigger than 5 acres.
When we were doing the contract our lawyer did mention it (hubbie is a kiwi, I have residency), but reckoned we'd worry about it later...!!
ie if we are successful buying the place I guess.
I'll keep you posted!
