    Hi All,

Need couple of other information regarding melbourne .

I booked my stay at 179 powlett street east melbourne.

Do i need to rent a car to roam around the city (but afrid about the parking cost as i will be there in the week days ) or is will the free tram solve my purpose . As i gave old parents with me they cant walk much.

    Please suggest.

Melbourne CBD is well connected with Trams and you will need Mikie (I hope I got the name correct) card for flexible travel between train & tram which can be topped up at any seven eleven store. BTW I don't think trams are free.

Alternative cheaper option will be to hire a cab. Car parking is expensive in Melbourne CBD in case you tend to go there often plus the driving will be bit of a challenge with taking right turns (you need to stop over at extreme left while waiting for signal to turn right).

Have a look at this link: North Richmond Station and West Richmond are the closest tram stations.

Trams are well connected in the CBD, so you can go to all the places - check if you can opt for daily pass (which allows you to travel as many train lines and as many times as you like).

With a right schedule like that, I would say go for a cab rather than tram or car.
