    Default Child with ADD...

    Good day all,

I wonder if anyone on this forum has experienced any problems when applying for a student visa and later on a residency application, for a child with attention deficit disorder?
He is 14 years old and is currently on the medication Ritalin.

    Thanks

Does he receive any support at school? You may be referred to the MA but I think you're likely to fall under all the thresholds for cost to NZ. But you might want to start gathering reports from his teachers, etc to show that he does not need any significant educational support.

    Thanks for your response.

No, he has "mainstreamed" - gone back into a normal schooling structure, after attending a school specialising in children with ADD AND ADHD. The main thing about his old school was smaller classes with more individual attention.
He therefore doesn't need any support at school - the medication merely helps with his attention span
