Getting My partners child put on his residency application

Hi There,

My partner has a Partnership work visa for a year, in May we can apply for his residency.
I am after advise on getting his Child who will still live with the ex overseas residency at the same time.

We hope in the future she may comne here to live and pf course if anything bad should happen and we need his child to live in NZ with us.
what steps do we need to take to get reseidancy for his child who isn't living with us or in the country at time of application?

I do not think you would be able to do this in advance, when the child is actually lawfully living with the mother in another country. If in the future as you say, anything bad happens, or the two parents decide to change the arrangement, so that your partner would then have custody, he would be able to sponsor the child in at that time - see here http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...ld/default.htm, and the link at the bottom of the page for requirements as to the child's situation.
