Default Mechanical design / Project engineer

    Hello everyone,

I was checking some overview of wages and requirement for position of Mechanical design engineer and Project engineer.
I've found really big wide range of what can I ask for..

So I would like to know if you can estimate the realistic price I could ask for such position in Auckland.

I have Master degree and by my possible departure over 5 years of work experience of CAD Design, Injection moulding and Project management within automotive production industry.

    Thanks for any advices!

There's no automotive production industry in NZ, and the balance of your experience appears to be in manufacturing/industry -- not a lot of that, either. Most of the demand for mechanical engineers would likely be in design consultancies specialising in building heating and cooling systems, or for the subcontracting industry that installs these systems. If you could get an offer at one of the former, I believe much of your experience would be discounted as it is not in this field, so you'd be looking at an entry-level salary (maybe $50K per annum, perhaps a bit better). Subcontractors would likely offer a bit less.
