Police Certificate for each citizenship?

Do I need to provide more than one Police Certificate if I have more than one citizenship?
I am from Brazil, and I have the Italian citizenship, but I never went to Italy.

"We need to see certificates from your country of citizenship (unless you can prove you never lived there)"
I never was in Italy, so I just need to prove it, right?
