Default Partner has left nz as Work Visa expired, how can he come back to NZ?

Met partner 3 months before his NZ working VISA was due to expire, he has now returned back to the UK, but is wanting to return to NZ to be together... what are the options? we have obviously not been together long or lived together ..

If you haven't got enough evidence of partnership (and you'd need about three months minimum) to qualify for a partner-sponsored visa, you will need to get together somehow to collect that evidence. If he is a UK citizen, in due course he could return to NZ as a visitor - there aren't big formalities as the UK is a visa waiver country. Likewise, you as a NZer could readily go and stay in the UK. Or you could both travel together to some other country/countries for which you are eligible for visas. As soon as you are together, you need to start collecting proof that you are partners living together. Here http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/30880.htm is INZ's instruction about this. Here https://www.google.co.uk/#q=site:enz...tnership+proof are old forum threads discussing what is needed. Once you have got a bundle of evidence, he can apply for the visa, see here. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...milystream.htm Notice, he would not be able to work in NZ until the visa is granted, but once it is received, as it is an open visa, he would have the right to take any job offered - he doesn't have to have a skilled job, or any proof of the employer having tried and failed previously to employ NZers.
