    Default Which Visa To apply

Hey guys can you please suggest me with my situation.

I studied Level 7 IT (Computer Networks) from UCOL. I got a job in IT as a Network Consultant. It was a fixed term one year contract but with possible extension upon review by the end of year. It was written on my Employer Supplementary Form by my manager. I got only one year Graduate Work Experience with this contract. Now my visa is expiring by the end of the march 2015. My company made a permanent contract after review. But when I went to drop my work visa application I asked to the guy who was standing at the reception in the immigration office to check whether I can apply this visa again or not. He said that you can't apply for the extension of your graduate work experience visa as you contract was a fixed term for one year. He said you need to apply Essential Skills visa now. Now my question is as there is a requirement for the job advertisement option also with this application. As my job is ongoing from the last one year do I need to ask my company to advertise my job or how should I need to proceed from here? I don't know what to do. Please help me and give me an advice asap.

    Thanks
    Abi

For an Essential Skills Visa the company normally has to provide evidence of having advertised the job and been unable to recruit a Kiwi. However, if you match the requirements of the Long Term Skills Shortage List or of the company concerned is on the Accredited Employer List http://www.immigration.govt.nz/templ...=Guest&level=1, then this won't be necessary.
