Default Giving birth to a baby in NZ

    Hi All,

I have applied ITA last month, 05th of Jan and as per the details posted in thread i came to know it will take min 4-6 months max for the CO to be assigned and finish the final procedure. Just curious to know, during this period if i am gifted with one more person added to my family, will it restrict my spouse to come along with me to NZ? If yes or No, please let me know the procedure. We are planning to give birth to a baby in NZ

    [Edited out for security reasons.]

    Thanks,
    Shankar

If you have an addition to the family BEFORE Residence is granted, then you need to notify the INZ Case Officer, and when you have obtained the birth certificate and passport for the baby, s/he can be added to your application and will get Residence along with the rest of the family.

If a baby arrives AFTER you have Residence but before you arrive in NZ, you will be able to sponsor her/him for Residence. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...ld/default.htm

If a baby is born in NZ, after you arrive there as Residents, s/he will be a NZ citizen. http://www.dia.govt.nz/diawebsite.ns...n?OpenDocument

You may want to hide that EOI number for security reasons
