    Default Visa Refusal

    Help
I have been living with my husband (NZ resident) in NZ for nearly 9 months on a visitor visa. Previously to this i lived with him for 3 months in NZ and previously to this for 1 month in the UK. I am from Belarus by the way. We have applied for a partnership work visa but this has been refused as my husband sponsored a previous partner which never entered NZ. Immigration have advised he cannot sponsor me until 2018. My husband is happy to support me for ever i just need a visa to stay. I am Metallurgical Engineer and a Mechanical Engineer. We are married and desperate to stay together. I only have 2 months left on my visa before i need to leave NZ. Any advise on what visa i can apply for or what we need to do.

Evidently the partnership route is barred to you at the moment. It looks as though you might need to look for a skilled job, then, with an offer, you could apply for a work visa in your own right, then you could follow up with an application for Residence. The requirements can be found at the links off this page. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/work/

If your degree is not listed here http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/35171.htm, you will need to get the IQA done, here. http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/qualificatio...ns-assessment/
