Visitor Visa after student visa ?

Hi I have a student visa last year, but This year I want to change this to a visitor visa, cause I'm not yet interested in study a new year but I still want to stay in NZ for a couple of months. My visa expire in 31/3 this month.

A bit confused, do you mean to say you have Student Visa right now or is it a visitor visa (on which you can do short term course)?
