    Default Whey protein: silly question

So, I bought a big tub of the stuff but haven't opened it (the jar has an inner seal like you get in coffee jars). I'm assuming I can't bring it, as it's food, but I'd be happy to be wrong.

I carried my supplements to&fro Australia-New Zealand and the Customs people smiled at me when I declared it as food, I declare it but have never been questioned as it doesn't have organic (living stuff) matter in it.

If its sealed then don't worry about it "at all". Don't strip off the sticker though as FDA is bit cautious on the composition of the supplements (lot of supplements are banned in Australia & NZ).

    Hi

Whey powder is food, so you must declare it to customs. It is also a by product of dairy, so unless you want to risk a fine- declare it!

If its commercially sealed, they will most likely just wave you through.
