English comes from England, not Canada. Therefore, people from England are the ones that don't have an accent; everyone else does.
It's an interesting point. But I'm from England, and I can recognize roughly where many other English people come from, within our little country, just by their various accents - there are accents that go with social status and different kinds of education, as well as geographical areas. Some English accents are so pronounced that they are hard to understand even for other English people who don't have the same one.
Yes, all of those accents qualify as "real" English in my book. If I really had to pick one, it would be RP.
There was a tv comedy skit shared by a friend on facebook which was a kiwi advertisement on decks. Had me laughing so hard.
